Young agrarian activists and community organizers in Asia attended a 10-day leadership training course in Quezon City and Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines on 10-20 March 2019.

The training aimed to strengthen the capacities of successor generation/second line leaders of ILC Asia member NGOs/FO Secretariats and their partner grassroots organizations to further empower their respective organizations, ensure good governance , sustainability and gender-age-ethnicity responsiveness, and broaden their impact especially in promoting land and human rights in their respective localities, countries and in Asia.

Furthermore, the course aimed (1) to increase meaningful engagement of young successor ILC Asia CSO leaders in the initiatives of ILC and its network and (2) to build a strong fellowship/community of practice among the successor generation of land and human rights advocates in Asia.

The training is organized by the Asian Farmers’ Association, the Pambansang Kilusan ng mga Samahang Magsasaka (PAKISAMA) (AFA member in the Philippines), and the International Land Coalition (ILC).
