Protecting the Livelihood and Health of Women Workers amid the Global Pandemic

When a lockdown threatens the lives and livelihoods of millions of informal workers, SEWA ensures the continuity of the small businesses of these uniquely vulnerable groups.

Members of Udyogini-Cooperative, a member of SEWA Madhya Pradesh, are using their skills during this tough crisis situation not only to earn income but also to support the reproductive and menstrual health of vulnerable pregnant women and adolescent girls. The members produced maternity and regular sanitary pads while maintaining social distancing and hygiene norms. SEWA MP packed and distributed sanitary napkin packets by conducting ‘door-to-door’ reaching out to the most vulnerable women in faraway villages.
