Established in June 2000, SorKorPor has around 35,000 members. It envisions an organization that supports knowledge and local wisdom helps improve the standard of living through a sufficiency economy and protects farmers’ benefits and rights through alliance building. It aims to influence the government’s policymaking processes in agriculture and to strengthen its members’ capacities to link with government bodies, monitor national agricultural policies, and protect farmers’ rights and benefits. At present, it is strengthening its organizational processes, information and database systems, and members’ capabilities in agriculture and self-help activities.
