AFA Chairperson Seo Jung Eui led a nine-member AFA delegation who attended the 6th AsiaDHRRA General Assembly (GA) held in Taiping, Malaysia last June 20-23, 2006.
Aside from AFA Chairperson, Mr.Kim, Gi Cheol and Mr. Kwang Cheon Kim of KAFF, Mr. Chaiwat Suravichai and Mr. Pa Phomkham of SorKorPor, Mr. Severino Umandal of PAKISAMA, Mr. Chin-hsiung Hsieh of TWADA, and Mr. Sambito and Mr Nuruddinf of API joined their partner DHRRA NGOs and other regional partners in the event.
AFA members participated in a two day-forum entitled
“Roles of NGOs and POs in Sustainable Rural Development: Models of NGO-PO Partnershipâ€, which was also the AsiaDHRRA GA theme, as well as during the forum and press conference on “Developments and Action Points on WTO and US FTA” jointly organized by AFA and AsiaDHRRA.
A dialogue with the newly elected Executive Committee members of AsiaDHRRA was conducted during the GA. Both shared their strategic plans until 2010 and affirmed their commitment to strengthen AFA-AsiaDHRRA relations.
