AFA calls for empowerment of small women farmers

In commemoration of International Rural Women’s Day (October 15), World Food Day (October 16), and International Day to Eradicate Hunger and Poverty (October 17), AFA called for the empowerment of small women farmers, who are the most vulnerable members of the agriculture sector.

AFA made the call in a special message sent to the Food and Fertilizer Technology Center (FFTC) for its conference entitled “Enhancement of Women Farmers’ Role in the Development of Rural Asia” held last October 16-18, 2007 in Seoul, Korea, which was attended by representatives from FFTC members from Asian countries.
