June 23 — AFA, FNN, LFN and VNFU attended the Mekong region land forum organized by MRLG last June 21-23 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Sokchhoin of FNN; Phoutthasinh, Khammone and Phonepaseuth of LFN; and YVoan and Hue of VNFU ; and Jun Virola of the secretariat joined the different sessions and participated in the round table discussion on large scale land acquisitions and foreign direct investments in the context of AEC where it presented smallholder perspectives on land issues and the need to promote land rights and smallholder agriculture. AFA also presented the Land Matrix Asia initiative during the open space for knowledge sharing. The delegates were also able to network with different government and civil society groups working on land issues in the Mekong region.
