This workstream focuses on engaging the development and humanitarian NGO community in developing a collective advocacy approach for better USG preparation, prevention, response, and mitigation of cyclical and increasing food security shocks, as exemplified by the current global food crisis.
The learning session focused on the perspectives of local and community-based organizations, particularly on the main problems leading to food insecurity and malnutrition in South Asia, challenges local organizations face accessing U.S. government resources, and opportunities for collaboration and partnership with local organizations.
