In an expression of dismay over WTO policies in agriculture, Director General Pascal Lamy’s visit to the Philippines last February 23, 2007 was greeted by shouts of protest from farmers groups and other trade advocates, including AFA and PAKISAMA.
In a press conference held by civil society organizations from G33 countries last March 21 in Jakarta, Indonesia, AFA Chairperson Seo, Jung Eui called on G33 ministers to stand firm in the WTO negotiations to protect the interest of small farmers.

AFA Secretary General Esther Penunia was invited to a globally televised debate entitled “Failing the Farmers”, which was produced by TVE for BBC World in cooperation with IFAD last March 31 in London. She joined a panel of fourteen international panelists in considering the most salient issues confronting small farmers today.
