From Concept to Communication – Hackathon next phase
The seven hackathon teams from the Pioneer and Explorer groups hailing from 6 countries are now on their 5th week of preparation. They have listened to expert presentations and received mentoring support which will further enhance their Big Ideas in solving CBNE problems. They are now sharpening their concepts and communication skills for their final presentations.
Forest Harvest Collective Mark: Strength in Numbers
Expert consultations on Asian Native honeybees have led to the review and development of standards and protocols on quality, sustainability and traceability. Collective labelling discussions with honey producer groups are also building interest and energy around the Forest Harvest Collective Mark (FHCM). There are also planned consultations for hand-woven eco textiles and rattan products in the coming weeks.
Two new sessions!
A session on Climate proofing CBNE business is being organized to present analysis on strategic options for farmers and forest producers. Field-based experience, farmer insurance models and ASEAN climate policy developments will also be shared.
Finally, the International Forestry Students Association is also planning a Youth Encounter session to discuss the potential of non-timber products in the context of climate change and discover the potential role and involvement of students in the CBNEs.
