Strengthening Inclusion of Family Farmers’ Organizations in Climate Finance Facilities
17 November 2025
11:30 – 13:00 Belém, State of Pará, Brazil (GMT-3)

Organizers:

  • Asian Farmers Association for Sustainable Rural Development (AFA)
  • Stichting Hivos
  • In partnership with Family farmers organizations in Asia, Africa, Latin America

Background

Family farmers remain one of the most vulnerable and gravely affected by the effects and impact of climate change, because our livelihoods – agriculture, fishery, forestry, herding and pastoralism- rely so much on the climate. Forced by these circumstances, family farmers, individually and/or through their organizations and cooperatives take initiatives to respond and adapt to climate change. However, financing transition to climate resiliency is a big problem. This event will discuss climate finance needs of family farmers at household and farm levels, and provide recommendations to foster inclusive climate finance policies at national and global level.
