From July-December 2019, the Lao Farmer Network (LFN), member of the Asian Farmers’ Association (AFA) in Laos and national implementing agency of MTCP2/AFOSP project, piloted an organic soya production and processing in collaboration with the Agriculture and Food Nutrition (AFN), a project funded by the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP). The pilot project involved 50 farmers in Nong Or and Nong Samchae villages in Nonghet district, Xiengkhoung province. Eighty-four kilograms of soya bean seeds were distributed to seven farmers, four of them women, and the beans were then planted in a 1.5-hectare piece of land. Technical advice was provided by LFN’s partner, the National Research Institute – Napork seed center in Vientiane. Watch this video on youtube
