We are happy to announce the four young farmers whose letters stood out. Thank you to all our brilliant and enthusiastic young farmers for joining this activity. Out of 78 entries, four were chosen to win USD 500 each to fund their farm or agribusiness plan. They will receive coaching for their farm/agribusiness plan from the Business Development Officers of APFP. Aside from the cash prize, they will also get a chance to interact with policymakers in their respective countries.
This is the first open letter challenge we organized, and we were overwhelmed with the response from our young farmers. We received 78 entries—78 inspiring stories from young farmers in different countries in Asia. Through this activity, we were able to provide a platform for young farmers to express to policymakers their stories and the challenges they face in farming, and at the same time, communicate these issues to a bigger audience via social media.
Thank you also to our partners, ASEAN Youth Forum and SAARC Agriculture Center, for helping to determine the winners. And of course, thank you to the public for showing their support by voting on social media.
Congratulations to the winners! Long live youth in agriculture! Long live family farmers!
