2026 Family Farmers Fair

As part of its 12th General Assembly celebration, the Asian Farmers’ Association for Sustainable Rural Development (AFA) will conduct a Family Farmers Fair to showcase family farmers’ products, achievements, best practices, and agricultural innovations of AFA members. The fair includes an exhibit of products, success stories, and photos, and will take place on 13–15 October 2026 at the Hotel Cambodiana, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. 

This activity aims to promote the achievements, best practices, and innovations of AFA members by showcasing their products and success stories from project implementations. 

I. Farmers Products and Knowledge Fair 

AFA members are invited to bring their products for sale or display. Each participant will be provided a table to display their products. 

Only non-perishable products can be accepted for the exhibit and sale, for example: 

• Agricultural products (e.g., coffee, tea, rice, processed vegetables and fruits, nuts, honey, spices, etc.) 
• Garments/clothing 
• Handicrafts 
• Other dry goods produced by farmers’ organizations (FOs) 

Aside from their products, fair participants are encouraged to bring knowledge and communication materials such as publications, brochures, and flyers for the exhibit.

Those who intend to join the fair exhibit should send their confirmation to Irish Dominado of the AFA Secretariat by September 30, so we can ensure there are sufficient display tables for everyone.

II. 1000 Solutions by Women Farmers 

In commemoration of the 2026 International Year of the Woman Farmer, AFA launched “1000 Solutions by Women Farmers,” highlighting women’s leadership across Asia while calling attention to the challenges and gender gaps they continue to face. 

From agroecology to climate resilience, women farmers are shaping solutions rooted in practice, care, and community. The Family Farmers Fair will feature an exhibition of this campaign. 

We are inviting submissions from AFA members — case studies, photos, and videos — for inclusion in the exhibit. The goal is for each AFA member to contribute at least one item. 

Guidelines 

Case studies 

• Must feature women’s initiatives, innovations, or success stories. 
• Can be from any of your projects. 
• Send a word doc format of the case with high resolution photos 

Video 

• Must feature woman farmer member(s) of the organization, demonstrating innovations, success stories, or initiatives led by women. 
• Can be an existing video produced by your organization or co-produced with your projects. 
• Please ensure you can authorize AFA to share the video on AFA’s online channels. 
• Send mp4 format (To send large files, use Google Drive link, WeTransfer or Dropbox)

Photo 

• High-resolution photo(s) of a woman farmer or women farmers doing agricultural work. 
• Digital color photo in JPEG format, minimum 200 dpi, file size between 1MB and 5MB. 
• Must include a title and caption/description. 
• No limit on the number of submissions, but only up to 3 photos will be displayed, depending on turnout. 

Notes for photos: 

• Photographer/project staff must obtain consent from the person(s) appearing in the photograph. 
• Photo must be taken by a member of the organization or project staff and must not infringe the copyright of third parties. 
• Include photo credit (organization name or photographer’s name).
