News and information about Aliansi Petani Indonesia (API) are now available online at http://api-indonesia.blogspot.com/.

The blog is being maintained by API’s IT staff, Nur Hadi.

Most of the information are still in Bahasa, but Hadi says he is now translating them into English. Right now, the API profile is already available in English.

API’s members and partners in and out of Indonesia can expect to find more information in the coming days that can be relevant and useful to them.

The most recent post in the blog is about the struggle of Sumilao farmers in the Philippines who are marching for 60 days from the northern region of Mindanao to Manila to pressure the government to award to them the land under the Philippine’s agrarian reform program.

API got to know of the struggle of the Sumilao farmers through PAKISAMA, a national federation of peasant organizations in the Philippines. The post about Sumilao is API’s expression of solidarity with the Filipino farmers.

Both API and PAKISAMA are members of AFA from the Southeast Asian region.
