With support from Farmer and Nature Net under the AFOSP-MTCP2 program, the cooperative was able to intensify its operations. They now have 179 members in the saving group and a capital of KHR 479 million (USD 11,9750). Through fund raising, including the use of Facebook, they were able to raise KHR 52,865,000 (USD 13,216) to construct a water gate that will allow farmers to transplant 200 hectares of rice in wet season and 20 hectares of vegetable in dry season, as well as provide water for livestock production. As a result, farmers can increase their rice production to 500 kilograms per hectare and get an income of KHR 3,000,000 per hectare from vegetable farming.

“The community will increase income from 100 tons of rice (USD 30,000) and KHR 60 million from vegetables (USD 15,000) and more from livestock,” says Oun Sophal.
