I am Phan Van Thiep, 31 years old, and a member of the Farmer Union in Dong Vuong commune, Yen The district, Bac Giang province, Vietnam.
Climate change has a great impact on the seasons, thereby affecting crop growth, yield, and productivity. It increases the risk of pests and diseases, affects reproduction and the growth of cattle and poultry, and affects the income of farmers. However, from another perspective, the disadvantages caused by climate change may become opportunities for agriculture and farmers.
I hope that the Ministry will conduct more detailed research that will assess the impact of climate change on agriculture, then work with localities to develop mechanisms and policies to make use of opportunities brought about by climate change. At the same time, Ministry should organize educational activities for people to have a correct view of climate change.
