Across 14 countries in Asia, farmers’ organizations have strengthened enterprises, expanded market opportunities, amplified farmers’ voices in policy dialogues, and built more inclusive and resilient institutions.
The results speak for themselves: more than 3 million farmers reached, stronger livelihoods, increased incomes, empowered women and youth leaders, and more sustainable food systems across the region.
This impact was made possible through a simple but powerful approach: investing directly in farmers’ organizations and enabling farmers to lead solutions for their own communities.
Watch this video to see how APFP-FO4A is helping build a future where family farmers are more resilient, more influential, and better equipped to feed their communities and shape the future of agriculture in Asia. Together, we are proving that stronger farmers’ organizations create stronger rural economies and a more sustainable future for all.
The Asia-Pacific Farmers’ Program (APFP) – Farmers’ Organizations for Asia (FO4A) was implemented by the Asian Farmers’ Association for Sustainable Rural Development (AFA) and La Via Campesina (LVC), with funding from the European Union (EU) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The program aimed to strengthen the capacities of farmers’ organizations to provide economic services, advocate for enabling policies, and promote sustainable livelihoods for small-scale family farmers across Asia.
